Assistant Officer

Job Description and Requirements

Job Purpose

The ICDAA Assistant Officer is responsible for providing assistance in serving the students and alumni regarding the internships, career development and alumni affairs while adhering to all institutional and department policies.


Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Assists in all aspects of the internship placement for undergraduate students
Assist in identifying new internship placements, communicate with internship site supervisors and communicate with students concerning all aspects of their internship.
Assists in establishing the career development center.
Assists in organizing career development events for the students and alumni.
Assists in contacting and coordinating with alumni; establishes and maintains contact with alumni; organizes alumni events on campus.
Assists in developing the annual operational plan, activities, budget and final report of the department.
Assists in establishing contacts with companies for job leads and internships.
Ensures that all graduates and employer surveys are sent out in a timely manner.
Prepare weekly reports, department reports as needed.
Must be able to travel both locally and out of town.
Performs other tasks as assigned by the manager of ICDAA.
Required Knowledge and Skills

Excellent skills in communication
Excellent skills in working with public persons.
Worked with various data entry and database management and record keeping.
Maintain professional appearance and mannerism
Possess high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
Must be highly organized with excellent attention to detail
Ability to effectively establish priorities and consistently take initiative.
Required to occasionally work flexible, irregular hours including nights and weekends

Required Qualifications & Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business Administration/human resources/Education

·         Minimum one year of experience in higher education in the career or student services department
