Principal Scientist / Engineer

Job Description and Requirements

**Job Summary**

The Principal Environmental Scientist will deliver consultancy and advisory services to both internal and external clients to a high level of technical quality, and to programme and budget. She/he will assume a leading role within the Environment team to help ensure the team is cohesive, client-focused and quality, health and safety driven.

Job Duties

The individual will be equally comfortable working on small or major prospects, proposals and projects, contributing positively as a technical specialist or managing/ directing environmental impact assessment and environmental due diligence projects in the oil and gas, power, infrastructure and industrial sectors across the Middle East and Africa Region.

The individual will work to provide mentorship/leadership in the Environment team and grow the business (enhancing profitability) while maintaining focus on quality deliverables, client and collegial relations.

Specific Skills Required

Valid UAE Drivers Licence

Fluent written and spoken English.

Minimum 12+ professional experience.

Demonstrated professional Middle East and specific industry and project experience oil & gas, power, industrials, ports, rail, highways and mining.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Technical and professional proficiency with a solid career history and experience in delivering environmental projects in a collaborative environment.

+ Experience in business development with new and existing clients and preparation of tenders and fee proposals.

+ Versatile and highly experienced in pursuing opportunities and managing the delivery of environmental liability and geoenvironmental projects with strong written and verbal communication skills; in particular, the ability to write clear and concise proposals and technical reports is essential.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Relevant science, engineering or geology degree.

+ Relevant post graduate qualification in the one of the above would be advantageous.

+ Chartership or other professional accreditation/ registration with a recognised body.
