Senior Associate Landscape Architect

Job Description and Requirements
  • *Job Summary**

The selected Senior Associate, Landscape Architect will work within the Design, Planning + Economics team to complete design assignments from bid stage, through concept design to project completion. This role requires leadership and participation on projects with other parts of the AECOM business. The Senior Associate will independently manage all aspects of multiple complex projects simultaneously, including managing client expectations, maintaining project programs and budgets, leading project teams, and driving design excellence. 

The Senior Associate will be an industry thought leader, forming part of the senior design team to lead, develop and produce quality design and business outcomes. The Senior Associate will be a technical leader with ability to deliver projects and mentor a team of creative professionals. 

The Senior Associate, Landscape Architect will play an essential role in providing a providing strong technical and business leadership on multi-disciplinary projects. The role demands a strong balance between design, client liaison, project management and business development. 

Job Duties: 

+ Design, Manage and deliver a range of bids and projects across DP+E and supporting other business lines. 

+ Apply senior level knowledge and judgment for a particular discipline within a functional area or business unit. Manage and deliver a range of bids and projects across DP+E and supporting DP+E leader and other business lines. 

+ Anticipate future business needs, plan for resources and ensure teams are focused and aligned on key objectives to advance the company and deliver results. Takes accountability for results and proactively addresses any unintended consequences. 

+ Act as Bid Director, directing the production of complex technical and commercial proposals involving multiple disciplines and geographies. 

+ Prepare relevant internal bid documents and provide leadership and direction on pricing strategies. 

+ Mentor, challenge and grow staff to create a high level of creativity and enthusiasm. 

+ Bring a strong creative flair to AECOMs Design, Planning + Economics studio. 

+ Support the urban planning, master planning and landscape design teams in the production of conceptual and detailed designs and associated contract drawings, presentation drawings, schedules and specifications for landscape and urban development schemes.

+ Lead in the development of technical project material, and guide the delivery of all aspects of multiple projects. Establish the bar for quality, and delivery across a practice, and establish systems for more effective project delivery. 

+ Strong conceptual design skills, ability to provide spatial design solutions for a wide range of project types, and project scales provide design leadership.

+ Strong graphic and visualization skills, able to conceptualize ideas in sketch and digital formats. 

+ Global perspective, and strong knowledge and interest in contemporary design, including ability to identify and suggest international best practice case studies and benchmarks. 

+ Desire to drive innovation in the development and communication of design ideas.

  • *Minimum Requirements**

+ 15+ years relevant experience, preferably in a multi-disciplinary studio environment. 

+ Strong ability to work within a dynamic studio environment. 

+ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other presentation software 

+ Extensive experience in the management of projects from proposal development to completion. 

+ Strong design skills with ability to work from broad scale master planning to detailed landscape design. 

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

+ Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information

  • *Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor of Landscape Architecture 

+ Professional accreditation license
