Proposals Engineer

Job Description and Requirements


1. The role will be responsible for the preparation of bids across Production and Flow Technology – production /midstream equipment portfolio of products. The role will be responsible for co-ordinating input and responses to RFQs with manufacturing, engineering, applications and sales disciplines for our Production Technologies and PFT products. 

2. Within the proposals process, capture and develop opportunities with other team members to widen the scope of supply and the integration of multiple products and service offerings. 

3. Ensure all the bids are handled in accordance with client requirements 

4. Create and compile cost estimates for scope of work (design cost, vessel cost, structure, etc) to a level and accuracy required to support the specific bid

5. Assist evaluating bids and acknowledge/decline as per company philosophy/strategy. Declining bids requires agreement of the Proposals Manager, Sales Manager or a member of Senior Management 

6. Control the RFQ to Quote process including: 
Coordination of ITT requirements with other disciplines (including ensuring bids are provided in accordance with clients specifications and meet technical compliance) 
Set deadlines to achieve submission dates and plan and organise workload to ensure that all deadlines are achieved 
Compile commercial quote documents to support the bid 
Ensure bids are reviewed by the appropriate team 

7. Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained and that customer care is at the forefront 

8. Assist and provide input in the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes 

9. When requested, attend Bid Clarification Meetings with Client and respond with revised tender or clarifications as requested by Client 

10. Review clients 
PO and chair hand-over meeting to projects department 

11. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department 

12. Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy 

13. Be fully familiar and fully conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times 

14. Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager



· Engineering Degree 

· Engineering Background, Mechanical/Process


· 4-6 years experience in estimation of capital equipment packages 

· Prior experience estimating / proposals environment 

API 674 Reciprocating Pump/Positive Displacement pump experience
Skills, training or special knowledge 

· Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel and Word) 

· Time management 

· Organisational skills 

· Team work and communication skills 

· Participating & chairing meetings 

· Understanding of engineering drawings 

· Effective communication in English 

· Experience in ERP systems
