Schedule Section Manager

Job Description and Requirements

*Job Summary**
Reporting operationally to the Project Controls Department Manager, the Schedule Section Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the scheduling section. 

The Schedule Section Manager is responsible for developing, monitoring and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control and analysis, in the field and the home office. 

Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. 

Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, performing, reviewing and presenting schedule products independently with minimal supervision. This includes using a high level of professional judgement and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design, construction and procurement practices. 

Ensures there are clear lines of communication and reporting with an emphasis on meeting deadlines and developing transparency in all operations. 

Role Responsibilities: 

+ Prepare Department Operating Structure based on NPMO Methodology. 

+ Implementing NPMO standard planning and scheduling processes and procedures. 

+ Undertake all planning and schedule related activities. 

+ Preparing schedules for projects prior to tendering. 

+ Defining schedule requirements for contracts. 

+ Evaluating bidders schedule submittals. 

+ Preparing milestones and schedules input for contracts. 

+ Maintaining the Second Party Master Schedule. 

+ Assigning planners and scheduling engineers to projects. 

+ Maintaining functional responsibility for planners and scheduling engineers assigned to projects.
*Minimum Requirements**
+ Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office 

+ Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel. 

+ Skilled in verbal and written communication. 

+ Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement contracts, construction, and startup work processes. 

+ Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. 

+ Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present schedule products independently with minimal supervision, including using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design, construction and procurement practices. 

Additional Comments 

+ Being responsible for performance of staff the role requires experience in the recruitment and final choice of staff required to maintain high quality performance and the Manger will be responsible for regular monitoring and appraisal of staff within the department.
*Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor in engineering from an accredited university. 

+ Minimum 18 years experience in planning and scheduling including having worked as the scheduling manager on large-scale projects.
