Field Service and Support Engineer

Job Description and Requirements

•Customer Services Department is currently looking for a “Field Service and Support Engineer” Based in Qatar to work on Doha Metro and Lusail Tram and support other projects in the Middle East region
•The Field Service and Support Engineer may interface / support other departments such as Deployment, Testing and Commissioning & teams.
•He will be mainly responsible to provide technical support to the User/Customer/maintainer/operator of railways, undertaking technical tasks and providing answers to technical queries covering the Communications/Operation Control, Security, and Supervision systems. The knowledge in Automatic Fare Collection & Automatic Train Control (ATC) systems is a plus.

The Field Service and Support Engineer shall be able to:
•Execute an Engineer level of maintenance the above systems
•Troubleshoot, analyze the logs and find the cause of failures of the aforementioned systems
•Understand the maintenance activities in operational environment, when the railway is in revenue Service
•Intervene to respond and restore the failure and put back the system in Revenue Service.
•Coordinate with the maintainer, operator and other stakeholders to get the necessary Permit To Work before any site intervention
•Provide the intervention report detailing all the findings and task done
•Escalate to Level4(expert level) or DLP team the findings after intervention, in case the system was restored to degraded mode
•Address technical concession requests; 
•Provide support to internal and external progress reporting;
•Identify Technical Publications update requirements, and manage and co-ordinate the closure of snags;
•Perform and submit root cause analysis reports for specific incidents that happened on railway systems;
•Participate in training development and planning activities as identified;
•Conform to Company quality procedures and standard practices;
•According to O&M manuals, replace faulty railway equipment and coordinate with Warehouse for spares in/out activities;
•Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment performance, work accomplished and other information using a computerized maintenance management system;
•Perform shift and emergency duties when required;
•Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Line Manager;
•Ensure that any product safety requirements are not compromised by work carried out and that all local safety procedures are adhered to;
•Adhere to relevant Company and Local Health and Safety procedures and maintain vigilance within the workplace to ensure that the working environment remains safe at all times.
•Note: Communications/Operation Control, Security, and Supervision systems include: Scada, CCTV, video recording, Video analysis, network, Radio, Digital voice and Video recording, PAS/PIS, Telephone, Video broadcasting, access control, intrusion alarm, public wifi, fire detection, etc… 
•Due to the changing nature of the industry, this position may require to fulfill other duties as assigned by Line Manager or Head of Services.

•A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering (electrical, telecommunication, computer, etc.), Business or equivalent experience

Experience Needed:
•Minimum 5 years professional experience in Communications/Operation Control, Security, and Supervision systems, with knowledge in:
•Virtualization: Install, Configure & Administer-ESXi, Vmware, Vcenter, VM creation, VM hardening, Updates management, cluster HA, VEEAM, Backup & Replication
•Operating System Roles & Features: Install, Configure & Administer -Windows 2016 server, Windows 10 & CentOS
•Install, Configure & Administer - AD, DNS, LAPS, WSUS, VAMT and EPO (McAfee) 
•Network: Install, Configure & Administer - VLAN, tagging, static route configuration, OS configuration (interface, static route),Multicast configuration on OS
•Security: Good level of security awareness. Capacity to configure an Antimalware (i.e McAfee Epo) with large flow matrix.
•Storage: Install, Configure & Administer- SAN Array, SAN switch & SAN Replication.
•IT Administration: Install, Configure & Administer KVMs, Load balancers , Dell servers, familiar with BIOS, RAID, iDRAC
•Minimum 1 year VMWARE, virtual machines setup & configuration, load balance,
•Minimum 1 year IT administration, antimalware, whitelisting updates, storage 
•THALES product knowledge, with 3+ years of experience in COM &SCADA 
•1+ years of experience in ticketing system is a plus
•1+ years of experience in signaling is a plus
•1+ years in cyber security and IT administration is a plus
•Certifications in Cisco, Huawei, IBM, HP & DELL products, is a plus
