Occupational Health Specialist

Job Description and Requirements

SSkills, knowledge and abilities normally acquired through:

a) Formal Education Requirement


- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery

- Master of Occupational Medicine 

- PhD in Occupational Health with at least 10 years' experience in the field of occupational health



b) Experience Requirements:


- 10 years of senior management experience 

- Track record of performance-and outcomes-oriented leadership experience 

- Ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalised strategies in the area of Occupational Health;

- Excellence in organisational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop well performing teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget;

- Past success working with external stakeholders with the ability to cultivate relationships and achieve stated outcomes.


c) Technical Competencies required

- Critical thinking and capability to develop problem-solving strategies in a purposeful manner;

- Good organisational skills including the ability to plan and work flexibly on a range of projects and to manage competing priorities


- Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to (operational) planning;

- Strong written and verbal communication skills;

- Excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills;

- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people;

- Passion, integrity, positive attitude, and is mission-driven, and self-directed


- Significant experience in government or major organisation’s health/regulation or major strategy consulting organisations;

- Perfect control of the English language
