Job Description and Requirements
  • *Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager for an anticipated position supporting a construction effort in the country of Qatar. The Project Manager will provide construction science, project management, construction engineering or building science support services. Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, design, and act as a analyst or reviewer on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments. The work location for this position is on the Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB) in Qatar. 

+ Acts as the backup to the Site Manager if absent from position. 

+ Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision. 

+ Act as a lead to the Site Manager if absent, on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review. 

+ Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects. 

+ Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements. 

+ Assist and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status. 

+ Assist in developing, maintaining and producing technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications. 

+ Direct interface and liaison with customers, if Site Manager is absent, at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications. 

+ Assist with site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations. 

+ Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures. 

+ Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work. 

+ Ensures employee conformance to established practices and proper training of staff. 

+ Assist with enforcement of company security/safety policies and procedures.

+ Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. 

+ Evaluates proposals and bids for various design, contracting, and follow-on services as required. 

Additional Information: 

+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and be capable and willing to submit and pass random fitness for duty screening particularly for drugs and alcohol.

  • *Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree in construction science, project management, construction engineering or building science and hold a Project Management Professional certification. 

+ Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in project management. 

+ Must be able to read and understand architectural, engineering and shop drawings associated with assigned projects. 

+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. 

+ Experience in AutoCAD 2012 or later is preferred. Must be able use AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project execution. 

+ Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D GIS systems is preferred 

+ Position requires a Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain it. 

+ Due to nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
