Job Summary

URS/AECOM has an opening for a­ Quality Control Inspector in Qatar.

Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, performs initial, in-progress and final inspections on various types of military, commercial, and other forms of Utilities and Special Purpose equipment, Power-Generation equipment, Quartermaster and Chemical equipment, and Construction equipment. Makes proper classification determinations as it pertains to U.S. Government property. Assists shops as needed with troubleshooting processes. Test and troubleshoot all forms of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) Systems. Conduct Actual Cost of Damages (ACOD), Estimated Cost of Damages (ECOD), Estimated Cost of Repairs (ECOR) and Estimated Cost of Fabrication (ECOF). Conduct Test on serviced, repair and repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency before returning to customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Use and interprets technical manuals, bulletins and written directives in the performance of all inspections.

  2. Uses proper Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE) in the daily operations phase.

  3. Perform technical research and ensure operational readiness of assigned equipment.

  4. Perform estimated cost of damage (ECOD), actual cost of damage (ACOD) and estimated cost of repair (ECOR) inspections and verify condition codes.

  5. Fires and Sustainment Inspector performs initial, in-process, and final inspections on equipment submitted for repair or services to verify all maintenance actions are accomplished.

  6. The inspector duties also include quality assurance surveillance.

Minimum Requirements


  • High school graduate or equivalent at a minimum.

  • Prior military experience or equivalent civilian experience as a mechanical inspector.


  • Master Mechanic equivalent and strong technical background with past QC experience

  • Three years’ experience in the servicing, diagnosis and repair of automotive equipment, tactical tracked vehicles and/or wheeled vehicle and equipment at the organizational and/or DS level maintenance.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • MS Office suite expertise is required as well as excellent oral, written and presentation skills.

  • Must possess the technical skills to identify different repair requirements as it pertains to Automotive Equipment.

  • Must be a US Citizen and maintain Secret security clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 48 hour work week.

  • Must be able to lift 25 Lbs. continuously, 50 Lbs. intermittently.

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.

  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
