Job Summary

URS/AECOM has an opening for a Quality Control Manager in Qatar.

The Quality Control Manager oversees the program quality assurance and control programs to ensure quality system implementation, compliance, effectiveness, and control. Ensures that the overarching quality conformance, performance, and improvement objectives are defined, monitored, measured, and achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manages a professional team encompassing a wide range of functions within the discipline:

  2. Establishes hiring boards to interview candidates for open positions.

  3. Evaluates staff, comparing objectives and achievements in staff assessments.

  4. Coaches employees in their professional career development and process improvements.

  5. Issues disciplinary or corrective actions when needed.

  6. Recommends termination or contract non-renewal when appropriate.

  7. Responsible for completing Performance Evaluations as required.

  8. Manages the quality assurance and quality control teams to ensure quality system requirements are effectively implemented throughout contract performance.

  9. Manages full range of quality department requirements to include staffing, work assignments, performance management, staff support and development, process monitoring and measurement, and development of appropriate quality documentation.

  10. Acts as the primary point of contact with customer quality assurance and surveillance entities to ensure that customer requirements and expectations are being achieved.

  11. Develops quality system plans to ensure compliance and implementation of ISO 9001:2008 quality standard.

  12. Directly manages customer complaints and works to ensure that effective corrective actions plans are developed and implemented.

  13. Provides periodic status of the quality system to the program management team.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 10yearsof quality assurance and control management experience on complex military maintenance and logistics contractor support programs.

  • 5 years of experience working and managing within ISO 9001:2008 Quality Standard quality management systems.

  • Previous training: ISO 9001:2008 Auditor, Lean/Six Sigma.

  • Demonstrated experience in quality data collection, analysis, and reporting. Capable of developing management level presentations and reports.

  • Demonstrated practical experience in facilitating Lean Six Sigma process improvement programs.

  • Must have demonstrated leadership and management skills, including a professional demeanor.

  • Requires a collaborative workstyle that fosters cooperation and teamwork.

  • Must have high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook and other related applications.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the overall effect of decisions for the company.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have a current, valid U.S. passport.

  • Must have active Secret clearance.

  • Must be able to favorably complete customer and company background investigation.

Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.

  • Must be able to lift between 25-50lbs.

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.

  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer individual who has worked in a 3rd party certified quality management system.

  • Green Belt Certification preferred.
