Medical Advisor / The Position is Subject to Funding

Job Description and Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  The Medical Adviser will work closely with the contracted hospital and health clinic staff to verify the medical needs of ICMC cases against project criteria and ensure provision of the appropriate assistance or service received.  

Specific Duties

  1. Assist contracted hospitals and health clinics staff in verifying the medical needs of any potential beneficiary.
  2. Provide ICMC caseworkers with a full medical report about any potential case he/she is checking.
  3. Establish contacts and maintain good relationship with the project service providers (hospitals and health clinics)   
  4. Participate in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly reports for ICMC management and the donor.
  5. Monitor the trends in the assistance provided and, in cooperation with the project teams, provide analysis of these trends
  6. Conduct and/or participate in various research efforts, as assigned by the supervisor
  7. Coordinate with health referral partners on cases in need of additional assistance  
  8. Attend health sector working group meetings

Personnel Management:   None

Administrative Duties:

  1.  Assist with various administrative duties, as required by the supervisor

Communication and Coordination:

  1. Coordinate regularly with ICMC caseworkers, contracted hospitals/health clinics, and referral partners
  2. Produce regular reports on project achievements  
  3. Represent ICMC to external parties, as required by the supervisor 


  1. Strictly follow the ICMC internal procedures and guidelines
  2. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor Degree in Medicine
  2. Minimum three (3) years professional experience.
  3. Good report writing and communication skills
  4. Demonstrated coordination experience with local health providers
  5. Diplomacy
  6. Good time management skills
  7. Strong English language skills both spoken and written
  8. Good command of MS Office including good typing skills
  9. Excellent team working skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment
