Job Title:        Cleaner

JOB SUMMARY

Scope of work:

  • Adheres to the International Medical Corps code of conduct.
  • Keeps the Maternity, ANC/PNC/NICU Wards spaces clean, hygienic and organized.
  • Transport, remove and dispose of soiled linen, trash and bio-medical waste appropriately. Remove empty boxes and place in appropriate designated areas.
  • Labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers. Cleans toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, walls, furniture, fixtures, doors, stairways, halls and other related interior furnishings by using appropriate cleaning supplies and procedures.
  • Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation where applicable.
  • Keep a check on cleaning materials and re-order via his/her supervisor.
  • Operate according to the planned schedule.
  • Keeps equipment and material under his/her responsibility safe and organized.
  • Cleans toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, walls, furniture, fixtures, doors, stairways, halls and other related interior furnishings by using appropriate cleaning supplies and procedures.
  • Inform management of occurring deficiencies, problems or needs for repairs.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • For the cleaners going to the guesthouses they are not responsible for washing and ironing the clothes.
  • The cleaners are responsible for changing bed sheets and bed and Pellow covers every day, after each patient discharge.
  • Undertake other duties that may be determined by his/her Supervisor and maintain flexibility in response in an emergency setting.

Qualifications:

  • NGO Experience is preferred
  • Experience in health facilities is preferred
