                        The French section of Médecins Sans Frontières

is recruiting for its project in Amman a

3D Occupational Therapist  


Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. The position is based in Al Mowasah Hospital, Amman, where MSF provides high-quality reconstructive surgery for war-wounded patients.


The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be part of the 3D project in Amman providing 3D technology to identified patients.The

3D - OT, with the help of the 3D Team, will have to find adapated solutions for those patients with or without the help of 3D

technology. The 3D - OT will be working under the supervision of the 3D Supervisor.



  • Assesses the functional as well as cognitive and social status of the referred patients. The 3D-OT will assess patient’s needs for occupational therapy and determine need for specific assistive devices.
  • Follows the set-up Occupational Therapy assessment guidelines (based on American Occupational Therapy Association / AOTA) and 3D project protocol for assessing patient of the project (UBET, CAPP, and functional test, etc).
  • Provide suitable individual occupational therapy treatments according to patient’s needs and WHO international standards of care.
  • The 3D-OT will train patients and their relatives for their maximal autonomy. Home visiting and home exercises can be provided.
  • Communicates with referring physicians and 3D colleagues and other healthcare professionals regarding the patient problems, needs and progress.
  • Adjusts, maintains and trains patients for the proper use of various assistance devices with the use of 3D technology or not.
  • Look for and design adapted solutions and assistive devices including or not 3D technologies for 3D patients challenges
  • Collects, records and submits quantitative data and qualitative data for the 3D project on patient improvement and 3D-OT activity.
  • Perform post processing after printing (sanding and smoothing) with specific tools using Dremil.
  • Perform finishing of prosthesis (smoothing, painting, adjustment and follow up).
  • Perform 3D scanning, measurements as first step for referral patients.



  • Essential, Bachelor in Occupational Therapy
  • 2 years’ experience (the one from the study period is considered as an experience)
  • Fluent in English
  • Teamwork, flexibility, commitment
  • Jordanian nationality


WORK LOCATION: Al Mowasah Hospital, North Marka in Amman, with patients’ home visits inside Jordan.

CONTRACT: 6 months contract renewable – FULL TIME.

 Probable start date: As soon as possible
