About the job

Under the line management of the Finance Coordinator, the Finance Manager will be part of the coordination team based in Amman. He/she will responsible for the consolidation of Syria mission’s financial data, and will support the application of financial and budgetary procedures on the mission.

As such he/she will work in close coordination with the Finance Department of each hub (Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey), and will have to travel on the field to ensure an adequate implementation of HI procedures.

The Finance Manager position involves dealing with confidential data and requires utmost integrity. 

Note: this Job requires to travel into the area of operations about 50%”.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Training support/Training for Finance Managers/Admin Managers on Financial Tools and Accountancy
  • Work with all hubs to ensure that Finance department’s calendar is respected.
  • Ensure support to Finance Department of each Hub in the implementation of Financial SOP’s with HI Hosting Mission;
  1. Partners Budget follow-up
  • Follow-up the monthly update (expenses, commitments, forecasts);
  • Support each hub for the development of the relation with each Partner’s finance focal point (training & capacity building, provision of tools, problem solving…);
  • Support each hub for the  consolidation of Partners financial data, the monitoring the level of consumption, and the warning in case of under/over consumption;
  1. Financial plan and global Budget and Operational Follow-ups
  • Check the financial forecast for coordination and hubs to ensure appropriate allocation of funds and challenge managers as and where needed on wrong or unusual forecast.
  • Ensure the regular follow-up of the consumption level of specific grants (German MOFA; Syria Resilience Consortium Grants) and report any alert to the manager.
  • Ensure that all hubs are using standard financial tools.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the FIN CO  and propose possible solutions;
  • Be able to give accurate answer on budget issues (Budget lines, Balance, extension…);
  • Arrange meetings with all budget managers at coordination level on monthly basis.
  1. Coordination
  • Conduct support missions upon each hub’s request (monitoring visit, training visit, support in case of heavy workload, gap filling…);
  • Participate actively to internal meetings and reporting;

To be successful in this role you must have:

Education and experience:

- Accountant Manager and/or Finance Manager– minimum 2 years of experience

  Accountant Officer and/or Finance Officer – Minimum 4 years of Experience

- Experience with INGO is a strong asset

- Knowledge of the software “Navision” is a strong asset

- Strong knowledge of MS Excel

- Bachelor degree in accountancy and/or finance

Professional & Personal skills:

- Strong organizational skills

- Autonomous, reactive and able to deal with priorities

- Extremely rigorous and precise, attention to details

- Diplomat, able to work collaboratively in a team

- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills

- Practical and problems solve

- Ready and able to travel in middle east

- Ability to work out-side working hours as per need.

- Strong humanitarian commitment

Language:

- English & Arabic mandatory (oral and written)

Above mentioned list of tasks/responsibilities is non-exhaustive, tasks can be modified and/or added as per the needs and development of HI’s activities.

The person should be willing to travel in Middle East, specifically in locations with security threats..                                                          

We offer

HI will offer the successful applicant a Six Month Contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from ASAP and be willing and able to work in Jordan.

Starting Salary (1,520) JOD
