General mission:

The Syrian crisis is the greatest humanitarian crisis of the last 20 years. According to the latest UN figures, about 13.5 million people are currently affected by the crisis in Syria, including about 6.5 million IDPs, while over 5.6 million Syrians have sought refuge in neighboring countries or in Europe. The inclusion of the most vulnerable, including persons with disabilities, in the humanitarian response remains a major concern. HI’s Inclusion program includes training and technical support to other humanitarian actors on the inclusion of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable persons in the humanitarian response (with a special focus on inclusive health and inclusive livelihoods)..

Duties and Responsibilities

Based in Amman, under the line-management of the Operations Coordinator, and with the support of the technical, administration and logistics departments, the Project Manager Inclusion will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the continuous monitoring of the activities under her/his management;
  • Define project’s needs and organize the project’s resources efficiently to ensure the achievement of expected project’s results;
  • Supervising and managing the team under her/his responsibility;
  • Coordinating with the technical, administration, logistics and Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) departments in order to ensure compliance with the mission’s standards and maximise the quality of the delivered assistance; 
  • Reporting on project’s activities;
  • Contribute to the need assessments and the elaboration of the intervention strategy;
  • Manage the implementation of the programs under her/his responsibility and ensure the achievement of their targets and results;
  • Ensure regular data collection, data analysis and indicator follow-up for the programs;
  • Manage the budget for the programs under her/his responsibility (multiple donors including a Consortium);
  • Ensure the respect of security, financial, logistical and HR procedures by the program teams;

 

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

Required Qualifications:

  • Academic background in project management and/or field related to Humanity and Inclusion programs (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social studies…)
  • At least 3 years of professional experience
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in humanitarian context, preferably on the Syrian Crisis response and/or remote management
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager is mandatory, including budget management(1 year minimum)
  • Strong experience in Inclusion of people with disability or other vulnerable groups
  • Proven managerial experience
  • Proven representation experience
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • High level of autonomy and initiative
  • Strong computer skills (use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other relevant software). Experience with databases is an asset
  • English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written)

                                                                             

We offer

HI will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 1 March 2019 and be willing and able to work in Amman.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with HI Terms and Conditions of Employment.
