Principal Coastal Modeller

Job Description and Requirements

**Job Summary**

The Principal Coastal Modeller will work under the guidance of the Department Manager and will be responsible for leading the work for all types of numerical coastal and hydraulic modelling.

Job Duties:

+ Be responsible from the timely delivery of all numerical modelling studies;

+ Assist in development and training of the junior modellers;

+ Take a lead in developing innovative solutions to numerical modelling problems;

+ Carry out numerical models, including proof checking, in accordance with the relevant standards and guidelines

Specific Skills Required:

Should be good in both written and spoken English Language including knowledge in formal report writing skills

Should be able to carry out numerical modelling of the following types with no or minimal supervision:

+ Hydrodynamic (HD);

+ Flushing (AD);

+ Spectral Wave (SW);

+ Bousinessq Wave Penetration (BW);

+ Sediment Transportation (MT);

+ Littoral Drift;

+ Water Quality;

+ Thermal Plume Dispersion.

Should have excellent knowledge of the following software:

+ Autodesk AutoCAD

+ MIKE Suit by DHI (all HD, AD, SW, BW including Mike3);

+ Ecolab;

+ Cormix;

+ Litpack;

+ Delft Suit / Delft3D-FM (Optional);

+ Surfer (optional);

+ Optimoor.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Minimum 10 years experience in numerical coastal and hydraulic modelling in using MIKE suit, experience in other modelling software is a plus.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelors in Civil/Coastal Engineering or higher

+ CEng MICE or IEng MICE shall be preference
