Team Purpose
To achieve Oxfam vision for Gender Justice in Jordan: women and girls, in all their diversity, are able to realize their life choices in all spheres and enjoy their rights freely and without fear in peaceful and equal societies

Job Purpose - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Manage the Gender Justice components of the projects “WEE.CAN” and “Join Up!” in Jordan (80%), in coordination with the Economic Justice project managers leading the overall projects. “WEE.CAN” is a multi-year, multi-country project on Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) financed by the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation and will take place in Ma’an. “Join Up!” is a multi-year project on Social Entrepreneurship and economic inclusion financed by the European Union in Jordan (pending contract signature).Support Gender Justice Programme in partner’s identification and coordination, programme development and project management (20%).


Project management on the Gender Justice components of the projects - 80%, in coordination with the Economic Justice project managers:
• Coordination of relationship with partner(s) on implementation of activities.
• Engagement with a diversified range of potential allies on WEE in a convening approach, under the Programme Manager’s lead.
• Project cycle management (on Gender Justice components and in coordination with the Economic Justice project managers):
o monitoring of planning and implementation with partner(s) on bi-monthly/quarterly basis (or to be adjusted according to needs),
o monitoring of budget forecasting and spending with partner(s) on bi-monthly basis (or to be adjusted according to needs),
o contributions to internal and donor reports.
• Quality control over project implementation, from a gender equality and women’s empowerment perspective:
o coordinate with Oxfam in Jordan’s relevant colleagues in Gender Justice, Economic Justice and protection issues for updates and needs,
o ensure the consistency of actions, advocacy and communications for a gender equality, rights-based approach.
o in cooperation with MEAL and Comms, identify topics for advocacy and develop case studies.
o proactively seek opportunities to liaise and establish synergies with other relevant gender equality and women’s empowerment projects and to inform other initiatives under Oxfam in Jordan’s Gender Justice programming.
• Update internal information systems at project level (e.g. OPAL).
Partners Identification and coordination - 10%
• Support Oxfam Gender Justice Programme in identification and assessment of new partners.
• Lead regular reviews of partners assessments in cooperation with Project Managers and other Oxfam departments.
• Keep partners log sheet to record information about partners relationship.
• Coordinate with other project frameworks (e.g. PAI) to ensure alignment with partners assessments’ outcomes.
• Provide support to other Oxfam departments (e.g. Policy and Comms, MEAL) when planning activities with partners, such as national and international advocacy events, donor visits, ad hoc capacity building opportunities.
• Familiarize partners with Oxfam partnerships principles and guidelines.

Support GJ Team on Programme development - 10%
• Support project developers and funding team in working with partners during development of project proposals.
• Provide input and support to development of new project proposals.
• When required represent Oxfam in relevant coordination groups and communities of practice.
• Maintain contacts and relations with key external stakeholders involved in gender justice work.

Technical Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Essential

• At least two years of experience in project cycle management.
• At least three years of experience in an NGO or similar setting.
• Experience in gender programming and/or advocacy and research in Jordan, with a focus on women’s access to economic opportunities and livelihoods.
• Deep knowledge of Jordan civil society landscape, and experience in working with partners and/or coalitions or networks.
• Arab native speaker, good command of both written and verbal English.
• Committed to Oxfam values, including promotion of gender equality.

Desirable
• Degree or relevant practical experience in relevant discipline
