Job Description and Requirements

Position:  Area Manager

Starting date: December 2008

The successful candidate will have to have:

-          a minimum of 3 years sales experience.  Selling intangibles such as financial services, insurance, advertising or real estate is a great advantage

-          a university degree preferably in business administration

-          an exceptional interpersonal skills

-          to be career oriented

 

Accountabilities:

 

Key Objectives:

  • To sell advertising spots and sponsorship on Play99.6 and Sunny105.1 within own territories
  • To build upon existing client relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • To focus on new business to Modern Media
  • To manage good communications with other departments in the company
1          Financial duties
  • Accurately report status and progress on a weekly basis in terms of revenue generated
  • Achieving your quarterly sales targets
  • Minimise any ‘costs of sale’ and clear all expenditures in advance
  • If the accounting department are having difficulty chasing payments, you will get involved to do so
  • Discuss with your line manager any potential obstacles/problems that may hinder achieving deadlines and targets to ensure contingency plans can be made
2          Internal

·         Deliver on your KPI’s

·         Ensure that your manager is fully briefed on main customers and their requirement

·         Attend weekly sales meetings with sales team to discuss sales activity

·         Liaise with other teams, as needed, to avoid conflicts of interest and maintain relationship

·         To adhere to company rules

 

3          Customer focus

·         Maintain a professional relationship with your clients whereby you are seen as a key point of contact for information relating to their market

·         Ensure all proposals and presentations you send out is of the highest quality

·         Act as an ambassador for the company
