Job Description and Requirements
QA/QC Engineer (Railway / Metro Project)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Ensuring all QA/QC activities comply with QMS ISO 9001 and approved Quality document.
• Conduct an investigation on feedback received from the customer and ensures that the corrective action is taken.
• Assist Project Teams identify Quality requirements and develop Project Quality Plans for projects
• Work with Project Teams and Global Services QA/QC to coordinate 3rd party shop inspections of material and equipment
• Work with Construction to identify / standardize field inspection needs
• Assist Project Teams coordinate / perform quality reviews, audits, inspections and surveillance to verify conformance to requirements
• Lead engineering / construction quality assessment and verifications processes for core contractors; report results and metrics to Projects Group leadership
• Assist Project Teams control vendor performance / nonconformance issues and implement actions to correct noncompliance
• Coordinate QA/QC awareness training orientations and workshops for Projects associates
• Establish manufacturing procedures, specifications, and inspection and quality criteria in order to ensure an efficient production flow.
• Ensure that QA activities and production operations comply with the procedures and the products delivered are in accordance to costumers’ requirements.
• Manage the resources and activities of the Quality Department and to ensure that the respective procedures, system and processes are being implemented.
• Responsible for monitoring of quality level such as giving analysis/assessment of QC raw data and recommendation of corrective action.
• Preparing documents based on the Quality Control Inspection and Test Plan and Technical Specifications.
• Witness all testing activities.
• Preparing documents for acceptance.
• Ensures that accepted engineering standards are followed during installation and maintenance works.
• Perform the inspection reports for all subcontractors work to ensure its alignment with the quality standards
• Assist in the preparing of the estimates for material resource, labour and equipment
• Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
• Maintain and update the material price list periodically
• Send out requests for quotations to suppliers and subcontractors
• Work with the company Cost Control department in updating labor and equipment rates required for the new bids.
• Coordinate with Design Manager to review shop drawings and plans and ensure all necessary information is received
• Sourcing of items along with alternative materials to assist any value engineering
• Discuss issues with supplied materials and work with the designer to identify alternatives where necessary
• Recording all materials and items for the project in an E1 Materials Log
• Advise manufacturers and suppliers with regards to sending out project packages for all areas
• Assist with mock-up rooms and prototypes, following through from order to delivery
• Maintain good relations with suppliers and manufacturers, and review new materials and specifications for products new to market
Skills
Must have at least 10 years related experience in Railway / Metro Project
