Coffee / Restaurant Store Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greeting and talking with customers, getting feedback regarding both items offered on the menu and service to the customers.
• Guiding and developing your team to serve the best in food and drinks, as store manager you’ll also efficiently handle the administrative side of your business, including stock management, cost control and profit and loss accounts.
• Setting a budget for wages, supplies and equipment and other expenses the café will have.
• Determining the correct amount to charge for various items on the menu from coffee and beverages through to food items.
• Managing the accounts payable and receivable systems, contracting for bookkeeping and accounting services or completing these tasks themselves.
• Hiring, training, supervising, promoting or firing staff as required. This may also include laying-off seasonal staff in some areas.
• Advertising and marketing the café, planning new campaigns to attract customers and constantly expanding the client base.
• Maintain the standard of cleanliness in both the Kitchen and Coffee Shop seating areas
• Clean all crockery, cutlery and equipment.
• Maintain a high standard of both food and personal hygiene
• Notes condition of furniture, linens, and supplies and recommends replacements where necessary.
• Prepares report, summarizing findings and including recommendations for maintenance, repair, changes in operational procedures, and purchase requirements, and submits report to head office.
• Consistently aim to get the best from your store, as well as your team.

Skills

• At least 2 years experience of running a retail outlet
• Passionate about customer service, love great coffee and almost fanatical about driving your store forwards.
• Budgetary and cash control experience
• IT literate
• Must have knowledge of cash handling, POS and computer systems, stock control and be able to speak fluent English.
• Applicant must be pleasant and trustworthy character and have high customer standards.
