Job Description and Requirements
Industrial Automation Technical Sales Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monthly forecasting of sales.
• Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers via meetings, telephone calls and emails.
• Visiting potential customers for new business.
• Making accurate, rapid cost calculations, and providing customers with quotations.
• Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales.
• Gathering market and customer information and providing feedback on future buying trends.
• Negotiating variations in price, delivery and specifications with your company's managers.
• Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions.
• Identifying new markets and business opportunities.
• Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales office.
• Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
• Follow-up customer opportunities.
• Should ensure the sales targets set for your area of responsibility are met.
• Manage overall communication with customers and within the client’s company.
• Drive growth and profitability.
• Responsible for customer satisfaction (building relationships and trust).
• Build relationship and influence with customer at all levels including the senior "non-technical" levels.
• Endeavor to get Activisys products approved on customer vendor lists.
• Evaluate products to meet customers’ technical requirements and specifications.
• Should ensure that the knowledge of existing products within sales team is high.
• Should initiate and train the sales team on new products as they are launched.
• Responsible for the results achieved both good and bad.
• Provide regularly updated action plans for each target customer.
• Annual selection of target accounts in order to reach the agreed sales forecasts.
• Drive the target accounts to choose Activisys products as the preferred supplier.
• Identify both sensing and control opportunities for Activisys and co-ordinate with the sales team to win.
• Implement solution selling through project management.
• Take all necessary steps (within professional and ethical limits) to ensure Activisys is successful.
• Generate a stable/safe growing customer base by securing long term business agreements.
• Constantly increase our knowledge of the target customers and contacts within.
• Continually investigate further market opportunities and potential customers.
• Define a business plan for each target customer.
• Provide updated project situation sheets to show customer progress and overall market potential.
• Should ensure visits and calls made are in accordance with a predetermined objective.
Skills
• At least 2 years sales experience.
• Excellent communication skills (knowledge of Arabic would be an added advantage).
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in using computers and computer applications.
• Knowledge of industrial automation.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills for coordinating efforts of management, sales, and marketing.
