Superintendent Offsite

1. Ensure the timely delivery and shipment of products in quality and quantity as specified by Scheduling Sector.  Communicate and issue precise instructions to staff regarding production programs.
2. Improve the reliability of Area 8 units by coordinating the Area 8 Business Team.  Improve operational added value by participating in the scheduling, preparation and execution of the maintenance plan.
3. Prepare Area 8 operational budget in accordance with directions received from management. Ensure that the ISBL and OSBL Operations Engineers participate in budget discussions with a special focus on chemicals, utilities consumption and material expenditure.
4. Encourage and control the application of and compliance with Refinery Standards established in the area of health, safety, environment and protection by the staff under supervision, and all personnel working in Area 8.
5. Ensure good coordination of information between various organizations and other operational sectors relating to matters that directly impact the Area 8 Operation Division’s activities; or whereby the activities of the Division impact the work of others.
6. Promote changes, review and validate technical modifications proposed to Area 8.
7. Ensure that Area 8 personnel are properly trained and each process unit has an acceptable level of experience and appropriate staffing.
8. Promote and facilitate effective two-way communication.  Encourage all subordinates to think and promote safety, and report incidents. Also realise the yearly appreciation for direct staff.
9. Ensure implementation of environmental procedures and control programs for reduction of waste production and control of its disposal.
10. Participate in the career development planning of staff under direct supervision.
11. Realise the yearly appreciation for direct staff.
12. Investigate all incidents/accidents in the area supervised, analyze these incidents and propose/ follow-up with preventive and corrective actions.  Achieve the safety program set in the basis of ISRS within Area 8.
13. Encourage and control risk analysis and assessment of any unusual operational or maintenance activities.
14. Schedule field inspections within Area 8 to encourage housekeeping, the identification and elimination of unsafe conditions, the conditions required for the work permit and the correct disposal of waste.
15. Contribute to the evaluation of capital projects and others modification projects.
