Job Description and Requirements
The CO will work within the Community Mobilization for Participation in Schools Program (CMP) Team, IRD’s Public Relations Specialist and the program stakeholders across Jordan to increase awareness of the USAID-funded CMP program and its goals and objectives among the citizens, schools and communities of Jordan; the Ministry of Education, its policy makers and regional field directorates; national media, business and public sector and the general Jordanian public. The CO will be responsible for developing press releases and communications materials; training staff and stakeholders on CMP Media Protocols; developing relations with local and national media and instituting inaugural and promotional events, radio spots and familiarization trips for journalists. The position requires extensive travel across Jordan. Candidates must have a University degree in a relevant subject as a minimum and at least five years experience in Communications or Public Relations preferably with an NGO. Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English language are essential.
