Job Description and Requirements
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Engage in promoting or creating good will for clients, individuals, groups, or organizations by writing or selecting favorable publicity material and releasing it through various communications media. May prepare and arrange displays, and make speeches. Covering events and conducting media relations activities.
Tasks typically involve:
1. Planning, developing and implementing PR strategies;
2. Liaising with colleagues and key spokespeople;
3. Liaising with and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations, often via telephone and email;
4. Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media;
5. Collating and analyzing media coverage;
6. Writing and editing in-house magazines, case studies, speeches,
7. Proof reading and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia work
8. Devising and coordinating photo opportunities;
9. Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours;
10. Maintaining and updating information on the organization’s website;
11. Sourcing and managing speaking and sponsorship opportunities;
12. Conducting market research;
13. Fostering community relations through events such as open days and through involvement in community initiatives;
14. Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation
