Job Description and Requirements

The Role:

The Products & Services Director is involved in all products & services areas from sourcing, building the road map, pricing and then launching into the market and maintaining the operations of the portfolio.

With his team;they will be the 'products evangelists' and be responsible for helping create the value proposition of

the company through its Products & Services portfolio. He will be overseeing products teams who are feeding

competitor and customer info to help with the road map, be involved in product launches, sales training, working with marketing to develop internal and external programs and monitoring the success of the suite over time.

 

The Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to manage a broad products & services portfolio and to ensure a product-led focus is in

place within the business. This includes creating and maintaining a roadmap for each product line and understanding each product's position in the competitive landscape it operates in.

 

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

 Understanding the key market trends which affect client needs and therefore products & services

positioning

 Understanding the competitive outlook and technical environment whilst planning and implementing

appropriate responses

 Creating compelling business cases to initiate product or request enhancement

 Maintaining products roadmaps and following products review and development processes in a timely

manner

 Working with the Sales and Marketing team to brief staff, position products correctly and maximise sales

effectiveness.

 Co-ordinating functions across the business to ensure products are fully supported

 Taking responsibility for collecting, measuring and distributing all relevant products metrics, such as sales,

bug reports, customer usage, customer satisfaction, product profitability

 Ensuring product performance measures are fed into new product development cycle

 Developing and maintaining an internal communication plan to facilitate the sharing of knowledge across

the business

 Managing peer and stakeholder expectation of the deliverability of business goals

 Ensuring feedback mechanisms are in place

 Acting as a champion for products internally and externally

 Champion products performance as a business KPI

 

 

Skills and experience:

 

 Proven experience in managing a portfolio of products in the internet/Mobile/VAS market.

 The ability to drive complex products from inception to delivery and beyond

 Effective research and presentation skills including presenting confidently to market

 The drive and focus to build a new functional area and embed within the business

 Ability to lead by example and sell product management as a discipline

 The ability to create accurate Business Cases in a timely manner

 Experience at communicating outputs at multiple levels within the business

 Skilled in communications plan development and execution

 Collaborative thinker and able to 'join the dots' across multiple domains

 Mature and professional approach to expectation management
